A smart grid [1] delivers electricity from suppliers to consumers using two-way digital technology to control appliances at consumers’ homes to save energy, reduce cost and increase reliability and transparency.

It is capable of assessing its health in real-time, predicting its behavior, anticipatory behavior, adaptation to new environments, handling distributed resources, stochastic demand, and optimal response to the smart appliances. It is a tool that allows electric utilities to focus on evolving true business drivers by enabling cost containment, end-to-end power delivery control, and a more secure infrastructure.

The grid is considered to have observability with nodes data integration and analysis to support advances in system operation and control. This includes power delivery integration and high level utility strategic planning functions.

The existing transmission and distribution systems use techniques and strategies that are old and there is limited use of digital communication and control technology. To achieve improved, reliable and economical power delivery information flow and secure integrated communication is proposed.

The Smart Grid with intelligent functions is expected to provide self-correction, reconfiguration and restoration, and able to handle randomness of loads and market participants in real time, while creating more complex interaction behavior with intelligent devices, communication protocols, standard and smart algorithms to achieve complex interaction with smart communication and transportation systems.

Introduction:

Andalite morphing technology is a fairly recent technological development, according to Prince Elfangor in The Andalite Chronicles. The technology is a closely guarded secret, and is normally only given to and used by members of the Andalite species; the only non-Andalites to morph are the five human Animorphs, Visser Three, David, the temporary sixth Animorph, the Auxiliary Animorphs, and various creatures which accidentally or deliberately operated the Escafil device. Near the end of the series, the Yeerks managed to obtain the Escafil device and gained morphing abilities.

Micro Electro Mechanical Systems

Micromachining and MEMS technologies can be used to produce complex electrical, mechanical, fluidic, thermal, optical, and magnetic structures, devices, and systems on a scale ranging from organs to subcellular organelles. This miniaturization ability has enabled MEMS to be applied in many areas of biology, medicine, and biomedical engineering – a field generally referred to as BioMEMS. The future looks bright for BioMEMS to realize (1) microsensor arrays that act as an electronic nose or tongue, (2) microfabricated neural systems capable of controlling motor or sensory prosthetic devices, (3) painless microsurgical tools, and (4) complete microfluidic systems for total chemical or genetic analyses.
They are most often used by the military and law enforcement agencies, but are available to civilian users. The term usually refers to a complete unit, including an image intensifier tube, a protective and generally water-resistant housing, and some type of mounting system.

Many NVDs also include sacrificial lenses, IR illuminators, and telescopic lenses. NVDs are mounted appropriately for their specific purpose, with more general- purpose devices having more mounting options. For instance, the AN/PVS-14 is a monocular night vision device in use with the US military as well as by civilians.

It may be mounted on the user’s head for hands free use with a harness or helmet attachment, either as a monocular device, or in aligned pairs for binocular “night vision goggles” which provide a degree of depth perception as do optical binoculars. The AN/PVS-14 may also be attached to a rifle using a Picatinny rail, in front of an existing telescopic or red dot sight, or attached to a single-lens reflex camera.

Other systems, such as the AN/PVS-22 or Universal Night Sight, are designed for a specific purpose, integrating an image intensifier into, for example, a telescopic sight, resulting in a smaller and lighter but less versatile system.

It is a science because It has contributed a great deal to our understanding of photon and electrons and of the inter relashionship of them.

It is a technology becase based on science it has wide range of application witch affect our daily lives. Opoelectronics is the study and application of electronic devices that interact with light .

In this context, light often includes invisible forms of radiation such as ultraviolet and infrared . Opoelectronics is based on the quantum mechanical effects of light on semiconducting materials, sometimes in the presence of electric fields .

Optoelectronics includes the following physical phenomena.

• Photoelectric or photovoltaic effect, used in:

o photodiodes (including solarcells )
o phototransistors
o photomultipliers

• Photoconductivity, used in:

o light-dependent resistors
o photoconductive camera tubes
o charge-coupled imaging devices

• Stimulated emission , used in:

o lasers

• Lossev effect, or radiative recombination , used in:

o light-emitting diodes or LED

• Photoemissivity , usedin

o photoemissive camera tube

Vs and displays with a plasma display panel (PDP), which are thin, lightweight, high-intensity, and have a wide viewing angle, have been predominantly used in commercial applications because of their large screens of 42 and 50 inches. Recently, however, the advantages of thin plasma TVs have become obvious, and the demand for such TVs to be used in the home is gradually increasing. Hitachi has recently taken on the task of making PDPs smaller as part of our effort to encourage the use of thin TVs as next-generation TVs in the home. With the goal of introducing plasma TVs into homes, Hitachi has put into the market the W32-PD2100 and W32-PDH2100 models of high-definition plasma TV with 32-inch high-definition PDPs, whose size is more appropriate to a standard Japanese living room. In addition, Hitachi also provides specially designed stands for wall-mounted units, as well as movable stands, open stands, side racks, and low racks to allow flexible installation so that the TV matches the interior of the living room.

This flexible installation has been made possible by the advantages of our plasma TV including its thin display and light weight. TVs can also be used as home theater systems. To further promote the spread of plasma TVs, Hitachi has brought the world’s first 37- and 42-inch high-definition plasma TVs onto the market.

The 20th century, which is often referred to as the video era, has come to a close. The driving force in that era was the TV broadcasting industry, which is about to change significantly in the 21st century with the emergence of digital broadcasting. The market for flat-panel displays using plasma panels and liquid crystal panels is rapidly expanding.

In addition to CRTs and digital devices that have been the heart of imaging devices, plasma TVs are expected to be leading next-generation display devices: they are thin, lightweight, and have a wide viewing angle. Working towards the widespread vailability of plasma TVs, Hitachi first introduced a 32-inch plasma TV on the market in April 2001. The 32-inch plasma display panel of this TV employs the alternate lighting of urfaces (ALIS) method to support high-definition digital broadcasting. The display has 1,024 pixels vertically and it is 82 centimeters in diagonal (which corresponds to a 34-nch CRT TV set).
