Thanks for getting back to me so quick, …I know computers and have been building them along with loading them for many years, I can T/S and fix any problem but this is all new ground for me and I love it lol, .So the way I am understanding it you can only crack a wep/wpa key if it is in your wordlist using the handshake, how would YOU go about cracking a wpa key that is 10 dig long using only numbers, (no letters) that leaves a hell of alot of combo’s for a word list? is there another way?
WEP Encryption can be cracked without having to use a wordlist. It’s much more insecure then WPA. You can watch my WEP Hacking tutorial for more information in regards to that. As far as a 10 Digit pass-code, this may actually be easier but take a bit longer. You can Brute-Force the passcode using only numbers and only the size of 10 characters. So every possible 10 number combination will be tried until a match is found.Of course, this can take some time but guarantees you a 100% success rate
@mushroomHEADBANGERS LOL one last thing…How did you learn all this stuff?.
@mushroomHEADBANGERS Dam, looks like my first question didnt post, well here it is again lol, Thanks for the info about the wep not needing a wordlist, I didnt know that, So for the wpa key using the 10 dig number, that means that I will have to make a number list that has all 9,999,999,999 combinations to get a 10 dig pass key right?,
@mushroomHEADBANGERS wow that is going to take cowpatty forever to run thru all the combos, I think every 1 thru 2 million numbers is around 19 megs thats 950 megs for every 100,000,000 thousand numbers, and 9500 megs for 1,000,000,000, now times that by 10 to get all the 10 diget combos ..So Am I going to have to make a number list that big to crack the key? If not whats the other way to do it? Again you are hell of a guy to take this time for me.
@mushroomHEADBANGERS seems the posts are getting out of wack
yeah you are the king of wifi hack vids . but im screwd all my neighbors have their standard essid and passwords so i know they are 10 long uppercase and 1-9 …..
Check my comment reply to mxlflyer in regards to that issue.
Thank you for your kinds words. The only way a passcode can be cracked from a handshake is by utilizing a wordlist. So if the passcode is not listed then it will not be decoded. However, some tools like John The Ripper can be used along side with Aircrack and Cowpatty to increase the success rate by adding extra characters, re-arranging letters, replacing characters, etc…from the wordlist.Hash-tables can be saved to a USB Drive and moved around.
It’s sorta like a pre-computed wordlist attack specific to the SSID. To simplify the Hash-Table process I’ll give an analogy…On a Windows OS there is a function called prefetching. Prefetching basically creates a cached copy of a commonly used program so that the program can be started quicker in future uses. The prefetched file is specific to that application and speeds up the process in the future but not at first.A Hash-Table takes time to make but speeds cracking on that SSID.
